Innovative solutions are a result of understanding customer and market needs
Stage 1 involves gaining a first hand understanding of the opportunities, requirement(s) and/or problem(s) to be addressed. Using observation, interviews and other research techniques’, understanding begins to emerge which allows us to select the right resources to generate a series of conceptual solutions.
These concepts are then used to help begin the process of articulating customer and shareholder value. While often the most challenging stage in the Stage Gate process, Stage 1 establishes the foundation upon which the product is developed.
