Rising to New Heights: Stack King Technology Wins 2018 Innovation Award

Rehrig Pacific’s Stack King was awarded the 2018 Innovation Award from the American Society of Baking for operational excellence in both distribution and employee safety.

Originally created as a simple, cost-effective, and easy-to-use tool for stacking product higher, the Stack King delivers significant value by reducing transportation costs for outbound product shipments. However, we didn’t realize how many other benefits would arise from this technology.

After releasing the Stack King prototype in 2016, we received feedback that one of the most important advantages, aside from reducing fuel consumption, taking trucks off the road, and, in turn, helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, related to employee safety and human resource issues. Today’s companies are concerned about workman’s compensation, rising insurance premiums, rehabilitation and employee retention.

The Stack King is a cost-effective solution to a complex and long-standing problem for many industries looking to take a bite out of rising transportation and labor costs. Employees who use the Stack King can work smarter, without injury, and it is customizable for any employee. In fact, early Stack King beta testing resulted in reducing risky repetitive motion by up to 90%.
